What is it?

Susanne Goldstein’s “Get Americans Back to Work Contest” is designed to help Americans learn the tools and techniques needed to land a job in a very challenging economic environment.

Susanne is personally committed to helping job seekers in these hard times, so she’s hosting a contest where three lucky and determined job seekers will win the chance to experience her “A Little Tough Love & A Lotta Technique” training program. Here’s what will happen:

  • Contestants will submit a video convincing Susanne why she should “hire” them to be part of this program. She will select 3 winners.
  • Susanne will coach the winners, pro-bono, for a period of 3 months.
  • Coaching sessions will be videotaped, edited, and posted online for job seekers everywhere to watch.
  • Winners will learn the tools and techniques essential to identifying jobs in today’s turbulent times.
  • Together we’ll demonstrate to America how these methods can be applied toward landing work.

Over the coming months, Susanne is assigning herself the job of teaching folks how to make themselves into a person that people can’t wait to hire.

She’ll be teaching them how to:

  • Develop a Personal Career Brand
  • Reverse Engineer the Job Market
  • Harness Luck
  • Find “In” People
  • Network by 5s
  • Know What to Do When Luck Strikes

How to Participate

There are two ways to participate:

  1. Become a contestant! Submit a video explaining why I should choose you as one of the 3 people that I’m going to help get a job.
  2. Watch here at www.susannegoldstein.com and on the FollowSusanne channel on YouTube to witness career coaching in action.

What Can I Win?

  • 3 months of Pro-bono one-on-one career coaching with reknowned career pracitioner Susanne Goldstein
  • A free copy of Susanne’s best selling book Carry a Paintbrush: How to Be the Artistic Director of Your Own Career
  • A free Windows-based netbook computer with a built in webcam for recording coaching sessions (Internet access will not be provided)
  • A new haircut prior to one (1) interview
  • A portfolio folder for carrying documents

How Do I Enter?

Step 1:

  • Grab a video recording device. It can be a phone, a Flip camera, your webcam on your computer.
  • Shoot a 1-4 minute video that convinces Susanne that she should choose you as one of the three people she will help to find a job.

Think about including:

  • Why you are ready to do the hard work it takes to get a job in today’s crazy economy.
  • Your current employment status.
  • Your previous job and what you liked and didn’t like about it.
  • What you’ve been doing to find a new job.
  • Why would you benefit from having Susanne as a Career Coach?
  • What habits would you be willing to change in order to be successful in your job search.

  • Post your video on YouTube (you can make it private)
  • Copy down the link to your video

We will be accepting submission from September 6, 2011 at 7:00pm eastern, until October 3, 2011 at 5pm eastern.

Why is Susanne Doing This?

If I could, I would say “Washington, SHUT UP with all the talk about jobs. Please DO something about jobs.” I was tired of waiting, so I decided to do something myself.

Who’s Eligible?

Please read the Contest Rules for eligibility. You must be over 18, a U.S. Citizen and willing to find acceptable work in the general area which you work. You must be willing to follow Susanne’s advice, allow for the taping (video and audio) of your coaching sessions, and grant persmission for these, and other coaching materials, to be used online to teach others job search techniques. Most importantly, you have to be willing to put in the Herculean effort required to find and land work.

How Many Winners?

Three (3) lucky job seekers will be selected to work with Susanne over a 3 months period of time.
